Combustibility is a materials ability to ignite or combust when exposed to a flame or elevated temperature conditions. Combustibility is an important building material property which must be given careful consideration when constructing any type of building in Australia or internationally.
Combustible external cladding continues to be a serious issue in the Australian Building Industry. The use of Aluminium Composite Panels and Rendered Expanded Polystyrene has been banned in several Australian states, with Victoria being the latest addition to this list, effective as of the 1st of February 2021. Non-combustible materials like brick are the ultimate solution to these concerns.
