Think Brick Awards celebrates the use of clay brick, concrete masonry and roof tiles by architects and designers. Whilst the Awards program is continuing, COVID-19 restrictions have impacted the execution of the Awards this year. As previously communicated the Gala Dinner was cancelled and it was hoped that the jury could come together in real life to judge the entries. This only took place last week (19-20 August 2020), virtually to comply with COVID-19 restrictions nationally.
This year’s contestants have pushed the boundaries once again, demonstrating extraordinary talent and architectural excellence. Think Brick Australia is extremely grateful to all entrants and the jury members for their patience and support during this uncertain and challenging time.
This year, the jury panel comprised of Elizabeth McIntyre (Think Brick Australia), Amy Muir (MUIR Architecture), Sue Barnsley (Sue Barnsley Design), Asher Galvin (BVN), Adrian Spence (Richards & Spence) and Geoff Warn (With_Architecture Studio).
Elizabeth McIntyre, CEO of Think Brick Australia, said “The jury were absolutely thrilled with the diversity of the entries across all categories, they were a delight to judge and yet again architects continue to rediscover brick.”
The awards cover five categories: the Horbury Hunt Commercial Award, the Horbury Hunt Residential Award, the Kevin Borland Masonry Award, the Bruce Mackenzie Landscape Award, the Robin Dods Roof Tile Excellence Award and the New Entrant Award. The winners will each receive $10,000 cash prize.
Details of Winners and Finalists will be announced in October.
