Climate Design Wizard

Think Brick Australia is proud to present a new tool that makes designing for climate extremely practical and accessible: The Climate Design wizardThink Brick Australia has collected, compared, analysed and simplified historical technical climate data and complicated design principals in an online tool that makes it easy for anyone to apply climate design principles when building a home.

The Climate Design Wizard merges decades of climate data from the Bureau of Meteorology with insights gained from Think Brick’s research into Australian building styles  (carried out with the University of Newcastle).

The data, which includes information and advice on heating and cooling, ventilation, wind, humidity, house orientation and rainfall – is all presented in a format that is easy to print out and show to a builder, architect, building designer or urban planner.

The wizard gives you practical advice that is relevant to where you live – it currently covers design strategies for the different climatic conditions in 27 locations across Australia.

Think Brick Australia intend the wizard to be a big step forward in bringing the benefits of climate-aware building design to homeowners, designers, architects and  builders across Australia.

The result is a natural, ecologically sustainable solution to achieving a thermally efficient, comfortable home.

The Climate Design Wizard offers climate control at the click of a mouse so you can stay comfortable all year round and help the planet while you’re at it.
